Web Design Trends 2022 Part 1

Microsites

Microsites are a great way to get an idea to market quicky or change direction on your existing market and “test the water” with a new idea.

However, for us they are also a great opportunity to get creative and have some fun. This gives our designers time to just be more fluent and to the point.

Microsites can be brand-specific or just a single web page that companies use to promote their individual products, events, or campaigns.

These sites are usually hosted on their own domain or company’s subdomain and have a different URL than their company websites.

Sometimes they are set up at the beginning of a much larger project just to get an idea or concept to market.

These are usually non-application-based sites. They would not have any eCommerce functionality or an elaborate sales funnel but just a main business goal to achieve (e.g. sign up to a mailing list)

Retro Fonts

Retro fonts are a great way to add style and flair to an existing design concept.

We are big fans of the vintage style, both in web design, print and design in general.

Like many, my favourite aspect of vintage design is the elegance of classic typography with its mix of cursive & sans-serif typefaces, clever layouts and the combination of textures.

Retro fonts can be playful, striking and attract attention but still be on brand utilising brand colourways, textures and imagery.

If you have something to shout about, Retro fonts could be the way forward.
